PhD Positions

We have several positions available at the University of Trento - Security Group. Some of them in cyber-security, risk and vulnerability assessment, attack and threat vectors, digital finance and security.

This is the overall Doctoral School in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Trento.

• You must have a Master or equivalent degree by 31 October 2016
• You must be able to start the Phd by 31 October 2016.

• Fellowship amount (Net): €12.196/year
• Scholarship increase for periods abroad: 50% increase when staying abroad for research purposes (up to 1 year)
• Duration of the Fellowship: 3 years
• Accommodation: contribution to lodging €1.800/year. Accomodation on Campus is provided for the first year
• National Health Insurance: Italy has a free National Health Service. Registration costs up to € 149,77 is provided by the University
• Personal Research budget: €2.800 (travel expenses, publications and conferences fees, etc.) additional budget depends on the advisor

It is a Marie Curie Programme with several other universities. See the NeCS web site for information on the full consortium.

This programme includes a secondment of some months at a company (For Trento this would be ATOS in Madrid, British Telecom in the UK and Poste Italiane in Rome). This is a richer fellowship programme, including mobility and family allowances.

• You must have a obtained Master or equivalent degree after 31 July 2012 and before 31st July 2016
• You must not have been a resident in Italy for more than 12months from 31 July 2013 to 31st July 2016
• You must be able to start the contract by 30 August 2016.

• Research fellowship (Gross): €33.051/year
• Duration of the Fellowship: 3 years
• Mobility allowance (Gross): €5.975/year
• Possible Family Allowance in addition to coverage of study and research relates expenses
• National Health Insurance: Italy has a free National Health Service. Registration costs up to € 149,77 is provided by the University

Employment will start preferably from 1st August 2016 and at best from 30th of August. The academic year starts 1st November 2016.

Candidates who have not been resident in Italy may benefit of a special tax reduction package.
